Nike Cortez

Le Nike Cortez sono una delle prime scarpe prodotte dal brand. Il co-fondatore di Nike Bill Bowerman, un ex allenatore di atletica, decise di creare una scarpe che fosse sì dall’aspetto accattivante e significativo, ma anche confortevole e resistente; una scarpa rivolta ad atleti, professionisti e non. Struttura pulita, bianca con iconico baffo rosso sul lato ed una sottile riga blu sul fondo. Ecco la combinazione vincente. Nike raggiunse il picco di vendite con la Cortez durante le Olimpiadi del 1972, superando tutte le più rosee previsioni. Nel 1994 questa scarpa ritornò alla ribalta con il cult movie Forrest Gump, interpretato da Tom Hanks; ad un certo punto del film, il protagonista colto da sconforto e solitudine, decide di iniziare a correre con le scarpe regalate da Jenny, la sua amata, prima che scappasse da lui. Corse per tre anni, suscitando l’interesse dei media e diventando ispiratore di slogan e simboli internazionali. Quelle scarpe, erano proprio delle Nike Cortez, e ad oggi non si può non averne un paio nel proprio armadio.
